The STRATA-FIT consortium recently gathered for our General Assembly meeting on 10-11 June in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting brought together consortium partners both in-person and online, including our invaluable Patient Advisory Panel members.

Each partner presented a comprehensive update on their respective work packages, sharing current achievements and outlining key objectives for the coming period. This was followed by an open discussion on defining priorities for data analysis within the established real-world cohort, as well as preparations for the upcoming clinical study.

The ability to have all consortium members present in the same room created a valuable opportunity to go beyond reporting progress. Many key issues were tackled through in-depth discussion, allowing for consensus to be reached on several complex topics. This setting also sparked new ideas and fostered collaborative thinking, shaping strategic directions for the coming months.

The Patient Advisory Panel enriched the discussions by providing lived-experience insights. By offering real-world perspectives and feedback on ongoing research processes, they ensure our work and communications strategies remain aligned with patient priorities.

Additionally, they shared crucial insights from their consortium-wide survey which evaluated the collaboration between researchers and patient research partners in STRATA-FIT. The survey provided positive results on the satisfaction of consortium members with the collaboration, including all members of the Patient Advisory Panel agreeing that the project is worth the time they spend on it and that they would recommend the experience to other patients. The survey will be repeated in the final year of the project to assess the evolution of the collaboration.

The meeting provided a dynamic platform for open discussions, allowing the members to share perspectives, exchange experiences, and collectively identify opportunities for project improvement.

We dedicated time to constructive feedback and strategic planning, exploring innovative approaches to advance our project’s goals.

With every milestone, our collaborative spirit strengthens, bringing us ever closer to a future where treatment of D2T RA is truly personalised and patient-driven.
