AI is a big opportunity and can make an enormous difference in future medicine. I am quite excited about the possibilities that are coming up. But it is also important, to talk about the way AI will be used. It can be a valuable tool, but patients’ needs and their quality of life should always be the main purpose.

My experiences in the STRATA-FIT consortium are positive. The PRPs are equal partners, and our suggestions are very welcome. An important pillar of our contribution is the support of the EULAR office. There is always someone who answers our questions, organizes everything, and supports the PRPs. With all this acknowledgement and support we work in a positive environment, and I really enjoy being part of this project.

I hope that at the end of the project we have a decision aid that will help physicians to identify and treat D2T RA. And hopefully this will lead to early diagnosis and a more personalized treatment of patients. Prospectively I hope this tool can be a blueprint for other diseases. Especially rare diseases could profit from an AI based decision aid.
