Patient involvement

Patient involvement in STRATA-FIT

Patient involvement is central to STRATA-FIT’s success both in achieving our research goals and our key aim of long-term benefits for patients based on shared decision-making.

The STRATA-FIT Patient Advisory Panel plays a pivotal role in overseeing project progress and providing input across all phases, from requirement statements to research design, data collection to analysis, exploitation to communication, as well as advising on further involvement of patients. This feedback is used to ensure research activities are oriented to patients’ needs and promote successful translation of results to clinical practice. Comprising experienced patient research partners (PRPs) from the EULAR network, the Panel brings invaluable perspectives to the table.

PRPs contribute to every relevant Work Package of the project, by providing input into study trials, surveys and developed products, reviewing lay summaries and translations, and any other relevant tasks where patient input is necessary, including the production of scientific articles. They are also involved in the development of communication materials and activities aimed at patients and the broader public.

Furthermore, the STRATA-FIT consortium adheres to EULAR’s recommendations for collaborative research, regularly evaluating and refining our patient involvement strategy to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
